The Massacre at Melos

In 415 B.C. the Minoans who wanted to remain neutral in this war were attacked. Later the Minoans surrendered to the Athenians. All the Minoan men during this massacre that were capable of standing for themselves were murdered. The women and children were also enslaved, the Athenians later brought in 500 men to colonize Melos. Since then Melos is now known as Milos.
